Linkage: A social enterprise with good food in Yangon
Linkage is a social enterprise that provides employment to the underprivileged in society. Many are uneducated or live in poverty so they provide training and a job for them.
The restaurant can seat about 20 people and it is simply decorated.
They have a variety of drinks here. I had a pineapple orange mint juice and it was so refreshing on a hot day.
We had stir fried spicy beef with lemongrass. This was yummy just a bit salty. The flavour was quite unique too.
The local stir fried noodles with garlic and chicken were chewy and ended up slightly sweet too!
The beef curry was flavourful but this was really salty. The beef was tender though.
We also had the tea leaf salad which came with many beans and nuts. This was quite a savoury kind of salad and the lime gives it a sour twist.
The tofu was simple but yummy too. It was really smooth in texture.
For dessert we had Traditional Semolina Cake with vanilla ice cream. It was really soft and chewy with a very fragrant coconut flavour. It was complemented by the vanilla ice cream too!
The service here is so good. The staff and students were so attentive to our needs and often helped us without us having to prompt them. They have other outlets in parts of Cambodia as well. Do drop by if you’re in Yangon!
