Lhong Tou- more 'high' tea at The Market, Bangkok

The Market is a new mall next to Big C opposite CentralWorld and it has a variety of food places you can eat at. One of which is Lhong Tou, where you can feast on dimsum and sip on flower tea. This outlet is a bigger outlet than the one at Chinatown as well.

The interior is decorated in a similar fashion as the Chinatown outlet and the whole cafe is still so photogenic!

They have more seats on the second “floor” as well, where you get to enjoy literal high tea.

The food

We got the special menu, chilli and garlic crispy pork belly with rice and soya yolk. I saw this on Instagram and it looked so good! This was yummy indeed. The pork belly was crispy and the rice was flavourful too.

The lhongtou siewmai was fragrant and went well with the vinegar that came with it.

The mala fried chicken didn’t have the mala flavour but it was crispy and tender so it was still quite delicious.

The lemon tea cake looked really pretty and like an orange. It was sponge cake on the inside and ended up tasting like lemon cake but it was pretty refreshing.

Drinks

The Lhongtou flower tea has nine types of flowers in it.

The nine flowers weren’t specified but this tasted a bit more like jasmine tea. They have quite an extensive tea menu to try as well.

If you would like something cold, the butterfly pea lemonade would be a refreshing to have on a hot day too. Being instagrammable, they serve the lemonade separately so you can film or take photos of the colours changing.

This cafe is a good place for food, photos and to chill. It’s a popular place among Thais and it is tourist friendly with an English menu as well. Plus the service here is great with friendly staff so we enjoyed our dining experience very much.
