Lewis & Carroll, Jakarta
Lewis and Carroll is a cafe that specialises in tea products. They have multiple outlets in Jakarta, selling mains, dessert tea and tea accessories. We liked the cafe so much we visited two outlets during our 4 day trip to Jakarta!
The decor at Senayan City’s outlet is rather simple but the cafe is spacious!
They have a very wide selection of tea and I was wondering how to pick a tea to drink when I was looking at this.
We had tea omakase where they choose the teas for us. This is for 2 and the test tubes are quite big! They were served cold and so fragrant! The teas are (from left to right):
Get Up (black tea and liquorice)
Red Ruby Skies (elderberries, apple pieces, hibiscus and blackcurrants)
Happy Summer Days (apple, pineapple, papaya, mango, mate, hibiscus, bamboo and lemongrass)
Silver Owl (silver needle white tea)
Island Cordial (mango, orange, strawberry, marigold, safflower and pineapple).
This is Rice. It’s roasted rice ice cream, black rice cracker, rice cakes and chocolate mousse! This was so fragrant and the ice cream flavour was so unique and so good!!
We also ordered the avocafe. It’s avocado chocolate molten cake with cocoa crunch, coffee jelly and coffee au lait ice cream! The chocolate cake went very well with the avocado lava too! The cake was very moist and rich in chocolate as well.
Plaza Grand Indonesia
The decor for the outlet in Plaza Grand Indonesia the theme is of a flower market!
They sell tea sets and gift sets here as well.
We got the craft tea fusion drinks this time and I got tropical hibiscus! It’s colada sun fruit tea (hibiscus blossoms, rosehip, apple, pineapple, coconut and orange peels) with lemon juice and mint leaves. This is quite a unique tea especially when coconut is a rare ingredient in tea too.
This is the crystalline mojito which is crystalline fruit tea (grapes, cranberries, tilla star flower, sea buckthorn, berries and white cornflower) with mint leaves and lemon water. This was very refreshing indeed.
The truffle linguine carbonara was quite good but it doesn’t stand out much. The truffle was rather fragrant though.
We got crunchy cheese scrambled egg and we didn’t expect it to look like this! It has bacon and hash browns inside too. This was good, we were so happy after that.
We had Cacaocha for dessert and it’s Matcha crème brûlée with chocolate and cashew feuilletine. It was pretty good but my favourite dessert is still Rice!
The different outlets have different menus so you might want to check them out before heading down. Overall, I think food here is generally good and the tea flavours can be unique and fragrant too.
