Hummingbird Eatery, for cafe hopping in Bandung
Hummingbird Eatery serves a wide variety of food, drinks and desserts. They have a large seating capacity and are able to seat people in groups of different sizes. The interior is picturesque and service is good as well!
There’s a seating area that looks like a nest and it’s good for pictures as well.
The interior is nicely decorated according to the theme as well.
They offer a variety of mains that include local food. We got a half ayam bakar and the presentation’s really nice! The grilled chicken was fragrant and the meat was tender. The sambal added a spicy kick to the dish too.
I got the Sapi Rica Rica which is spicy beef cooked manado style served with steamed rice, keropok, pergedil and mango salad. This was really spicy but I enjoyed this!
They serve Asian food such as Mom’s Kari Ayam. It was really thick and tasty but it wasn’t spicy. The chilli that came with the dish complemented it well and added to the flavour. They serve Western food as well but we didn’t try them.
They have a various cakes and desserts here. I tried the genmaicha boba cake and it was quite a large portion. The genmaicha flavour was light, just like the cake’s texture. The pearls were served warm and went well with the cake too.
The lychee and peach mojito was slightly different than the usual mojitos because this was soda and mint with peach slices and lychee in it. This was refreshing and it wasn’t too sweet too.
The ginger tea was flavourful and rather sweet, served with a ginger cookie that was really crisp and fragrant too. The ginger cookie is served with their hot drinks and they do sell them at the cafe as well.
Eating here was a breeze because staff here speak good English and were very thoughtful too. Apart from serving meals and drinks, they have a guesthouse as well. Do visit if you’re in Bandung to have a look!
