Pita Tree Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar
I came here for a burpple eatup and had a very satisfying dinner! The food was delicious and service was great as well.
Our meal started with a mixed dip platter. It comes with 4 dips (spicy eggplant, hummus, labneh and baba ganoush) and 4 pitas. The dips were really flavourful and the pitas were so fluffy. My favourite dip was the spicy eggplant because there was a spicy kick to it. We enjoyed this dish quite a lot!
Next we had the extra virgin Greek salad, which consists of tomato cucumber, olives, feta cheese, green peppers, oregano and extra virgin olive oil. It was really light and refreshing, a good balance to the meal!
We then had Kibbeh, which are bulgor patties stuffed with minced lamb and pine nuts. They came with 3 dips, I really liked the garlic yogurt sauce and it complemented the kibbeh well!
We then had the Arabic lamb shank briyani which was amazing! This is the chef’s signature dish and it’s his unique creation as well. He confidently said you won’t be able to find this anywhere else. The lamb shank was cooked over 4 hours resulting in the meat being flavourful and tender. The rice was light and fluffy making me want to shovel more rice in my mouth even though we were all rather full then. The tomato sauce next to the briyani elevated the flavours further, giving a wow factor to the dish. I really loved this and would want to go back for this again!
The staff debone the lamb shank and mix everything up evenly for you so all you have to do is eat.
The medley of grills came with 4 skewers of chef’s recommended specialty platter combo with minced lamb, chicken, prawns and beef. These were grilled well and were flavourful, complemented by the sauces that served with them! I especially enjoyed the fresh prawns and the yogurt chicken. This is a portion for 2-3 persons so it’ll be good to come here with a group of friends!
We then had Turkish baklava and I was excited because I’ve heard about it but haven’t tried it yet. This is made of fluffy pastry, honey and pistachio but we tasted cheese in this. It was nice but it was so sweet!
The pistachio ice cream was really rich and smooth, with pistachio bits added on top. This was really yummy and I enjoyed it a lot.
Overall, I thought this is a great place for a meal with a group of friends and I especially loved the briyani too. This is a place I could go back in the future too!
Thank you Burpple for the invite and Pita Tree Mediterranean Kitchen and Bar for the kind hospitality! :)
