Choui Fong Tea Plantation
Choui Fong Tea Plantation in Chiang Rai is one of my favourite places to visit in Thailand, for their atmosphere, tea and their food. The best time to visit is during winter when the weather is cooling and it is nice to sit around and relax there. My parents have been here during the summer and they said it's so hot it's harder to enjoy the place then.
Choui Fong also has a cafe and a retail store in buildings that are attractive especially to architects.
With the building located on the hill, you get to have a good unobstructed view of the tea plantation when you stand at the edge of the rooftop! The building on the other side has another cafe which is older than this one and has a slightly different menu!

Here are views that you get to see from the top of the building!
This cafe was designed like that to maximise the area, people get to sit with a good view!
They have a retail shop selling their tea leaves, tea sets and their merchandise too. The prices here are quite reasonable and the tea is pretty good!
This is the interior of the cafe! They have a good variety of food and drink products. The cafe on the other side of the tea plantation sells solid food too.
This is their new product, green tea popcorn. I look forward to their new products whenever I come back!
This is my favourite, Thai tea crepe cake. I would say it's my favourite Thai tea crepe cake in the whole of Thailand too! The layers are very dense and even the crepes have a bit of Thai tea flavour too!
The green tea crepe cake is as good as the Thai tea one, so I feel if you have to choose between the two it depends on your personal preferences!
If you get a seat along the sides, the tea plantation makes a nice background for your cakes too!
This is their coconut cake. It's very light in terms of flavour and texture but the coconut taste is still quite distinct!
This is the Choui Fong Cheesecake. It's green tea with cheesecake and it's quite good! It has the American cheesecake kind of texture so I really liked the base too.
If you would like something less common than Thai iced tea or Thai green tea to drink, you can try their Oolong teas. I like the Oolong with jelly drink, it's really refreshing and the tea is fragrant!
It's also quite nice to enjoy the changing colours of the sky here near sunset times.
And here's a bit of the sunset at the carpark!
I have been here 4 times over the past few years and I look forward to each time I get to visit again! Apart from looking forward to try their new products, I look forward to getting to enjoy their food and their relaxing ambience when I visit. This place is not very accessible though, so you have to rent a car or driver to get here!
